Gosh I really hope mine don’t have the white undercoating I did look at the reviews on the ones they now and some posted pics of them like close ups of the pencils doesn’t look like they have that at all so 🤞

I don’t think they are fake, look at the year and that would explain the colour changes in the sets. No pencil has ever been the same I find. I find more consistent results with Arrtx and Polychromos. Everything is always the same with these two, from barrel size, colour and feel.

I recently destashed all my zentangle books, I just could not get into it. Glad to see your video on it though. I found the ink needs to fully dry before it is waterproof. Before that it does bleed.

Hello there Lily, I've tried Zentangling, I didn't really gel with it and always ended up drawing the same patterns over and over. I did enjoy drawing mandalas although I get annoyed with myself when I can't get the shapes symmetrical lol. I actually started drawing my own mandalas to colour, it was years ago before all the good mandala books were available. I recently dusted my sewing machine off too, just to alter the sleeves on a few dresses but it has started off an itch to make something from scratch again lol. By the way, I've discovered that the best zentangles are your own doodles, rather than copying something from a book. Put pen to paper and just let your hands to the 'talking' ❤

Look into Santangle. The woman who brand it is, is very popular because she has a range of stencils and is very versatile😋

What a great review - thank you. I’m so glad you didn’t swatch them but rather colour with them. Like so many pencils I suspect they are made in Shanghai at the same factory where they make Brutfuner, Castle Arts and Arteza. Personally I don’t like the Castle Arts pencils at all, and have recently gone right off Arteza - now these have arrived! I have a lot of pencils - Caran d’Ache Luminous and Pablos, a full set of Holbeins, also Prismacolour and Faber Castell Polychromous, even some cheaper ones too like Arteza , B&H and Brutfuner. I have so many sets because have been trying to replace my all time favourites - my set of Karismacolour by Berol (the original Prismas, same shades but great quality). I got out my old Karismas recently to colour a picture - and was surprised that the Evazars were as good, if not better. I LOVE these pencils. So creamy and such rich pigment. I know some think they are more like Polychromous but honestly Ive arthritis in both hands and these don’t hurt to use at all. In fact I’m stunned how much I love them. Whilst swatching them two tins of other pencils arrived, both having been on order for a few weeks. Loved the Artisto, - limited shades but great reds - and they work well with the Evazar. The other box were the Artxx - didn’t like them at all despite having similar shades to Prismas so have returned them as being too variable in quality. My search for my replacements for my Karismas I think is now over. Really really enjoying these Evazars , just wish they were open stock.

I love Johanna Basfod's coloring books as well. I have small victories and the Rooms of Wonders. She really knows how to create a coloring book.

There are pencil factories that makes a pencil range, then smaller/ mid range or new companies can choose from their colour range and any specific things that they want on and in pencils and the packaging. Essentially the companies are just putting their brand name printed on usually the same (or very similar) pencils. People generally have no idea that this happens, unless they buy from multiple brands and suspect they’re the same pencil. That’s why companies can keep their price points lower and if a brand gets more popular, they then can mark up the price. Obviously this is different for more expensive/professional pencils that usually come from an older well established company. They most likely wouldn’t outsource and have their own factory.

Great video! I ordered the paints straightaway. I love using seral transfer paper to transfer my coloring pages onto arches watercolor paper and painting them that way. But I’m going to try the watercolor ground for an easier painting 😍

I dont know if someone already mentioned, but at about 10.30 you mention that the kalour remind you of the brutfuner. But the kalours are frome the same factory. As among some other brand name/labels. How you say that..? Sarah renea clarck did a little deep diving and mentioned a little list of label names that all come from the burtfuner factory.

Loves this video. They look similar to the premiums which come in a tub! I've got the experts and absolutely love them together with the Bruts!

And a really nice set of watercolour pencils is the Mondeluz (Koh-i-Noor). I have a set of 72 and I love them. Vivid colours, a very good selection of colours and they work very nicely in colouring books. I can also recommend the standard colouring pencil set (Koh-i-Noor Polycolor). A bit of an underrated brand, if you ask me.🙂

Nice to see them, thankfully they don't seem available (unless I want to order and wait till sept for delivery) so I can't be tempted, by them!😀 I'd buy another set of the experts if they ever arrive back, been searching for years now, they seem to have decided not to bother with big expert pencils sets now.
